August 2005

The Bachelor Club released in April 2005 but due to a family crisis at that time (thank you Prince George Regional Hospital for your compassionate care!) I have not had a chance to post an excerpt.

When I became a "single parent" last year after my husband could only find work out of town, I had to retire from writing. I no longer had the time (or energy) to work every evening on my books.

Little did we know our situation could, and did, get much worse. I am grateful I did not have a manuscript deadline when our world fell apart. Thank you to the many authors, readers, friends and family who have supported us not only with faithful prayers, but also financially as we travel this difficult valley, in the shadow of death.

I hope, at some point in the future, God will call me back to writing and that the joy I once had in doing so will be restored. I trust in Him.

Thank you for reading my books, for encouraging me (the road to publication is not always easy), and for caring. I hope my work tickled your funny bone, made you laugh, and even cry.

Blessings to each of you.

May 2004

Let My Heart Go is a Heartsong Presents novel scheduled to be released in July 2004. Initially, these novels were for mail order only, but are now available in book stores.

I will post an excerpt of this book soon. For now, I suppose I can say a little something about the story. The heroine, Stephanie, cares deeply for the youth she works with and is determined to shelter them from the harsh world we live in. Nathan also cares for people and delights in teaching them reliance, independence and respect through the survival camps he provides. Stephanie sees this as cruel punishment. What happens when these two are thrown together, along with some wacky teens, on a trek through the desert?

I hope you'll pick up a copy of the book when it is released. Thanks for dropping by and for reading my work.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. If you'd like to win a copy of Let My Heart Go, please sign my guestbook.

April 2003

Believe it or not, I'm speechless. Me, a writer and a person my father always said was vaccinated with a gramophone needle! But that's what happens when a dream comes true. I received my first copy of BLIND DATES and couldn't say anything. I simply held the book for a few hours while a silly grin remained plastered to my face.

Writing this novella was probably the most fun I've ever had working on a project. The other authors, Kristin Billerbeck, Colleen Coble, and Denise Hunter are three of the funniest, kindest and supportive authors I've ever known. Oh, and they write mighty fine, as well. It was a joy working with these talented writers. Thank you, ladies.

Here is an excerpt of Mix and Match. I hope you'll pick up a copy of this anthology and then let me know what you think.

If you like this novella, I have another one coming out in October. Strings of the Heart is also by Barbour and includes authors Ginny Aiken, Lynn Coleman and Yvonne Lehman. I'm awed by their talent and their busy schedules. They seem to be writing several books at a time!

Just a few weeks ago I learned that I sold my first novel. I have no other details yet because the contract has not arrived. This is one of my favourite books. I jokingly call it my modern day Moses story as the hero must lead the heroine and a group of wayward teens through an outward-bound-type of survival trip across the desert. If that's not bad enough, the heroine's idea of the great outdoors is driving in her car with the window down. It makes for some interesting moments!

Well, for someone who was speechless a moment ago, I sure made up for lost time, eh? I'll stop rambling now so you can get on with reading my book.

Update:

BLIND DATES is now available through Crossings Book Club. In the U.S., the order number is 577098 and in Canada the number is K060.

Thank you to all those who read/purchased the book. And a special thank you to the many readers who wrote reviews. Also, I really enjoyed getting snail mail and e-mail from you. One reader wrote to say BLIND DATES is her favorite anthology. I just hope she's read more than one! Seriously, though, words can not express the feeling of great joy one experiences when they hear someone laughed, cried or was encouraged by their words. If all of my books do that, I'll be one happy camper, err, author.

If you're interested, here are some of the online reviews. If you haven't read BLIND DATES, hopefully, these will convince you to do so:
